Frequently Asked Questions

What does room size mean?

The room size listed on the Vornado product is the suggested maximum room size for the specific unit. When used in the correct room size, a Vornado unit operates effectively and efficiently.

If you were to use your Vornado Air Circulator or Heater in a room that is larger than the suggested room size, the unit will operate as a personal cooling or heating unit, and will likely not achieve whole room air circulation.

What are the key differences between the EnergySmart ranges and the other Air Circulators?

The EnergySmart series Air Circulators are built to be whisper quiet on lower settings and feature DC motors, rather than AC motors like the standard Vornado Air Circulators.

The Air Circulators in the EnergySmart series are up to 80% more energy efficient than their AC counterparts, and have up to 99 unique speed settings to customise your comfort.

The EnergySmart series only comes in White, where as the other Air Circulators generally come in either Black or White.

What is the difference between a small, medium and large sized unit?

Small Vornado units are best used a child's bedroom, an office, study, or other small enclosed rooms of the home. They can also be used for personal comfort where whole room air circulation isn't a priority.

Medium Vornado units are best suited for larger bedrooms, enclosed theatres, and enclosed living spaces. Most Vornado Pedestal Air Circulators are included in this category, and they're better suited in areas where you have to navigate larger furniture items like a bed in a main bedroom or couches in a lounge room.

Large Vornado Air Circulators are best suited for large living areas, open dining rooms and large living spaces. These units are our most powerful units and can circulate air throughout the space most efficiently. If used in smaller spaces, we recommend operating the unit on a lower speed setting.
